QlikTech Teams with HP and Intel to Leverage Platform Speed with Intelligent
Ad-Hoc Data Analysis for Business Insight in Seconds
QlikTech, the Swedish developer of QlikView business intelligence and data analytics software, has announced a one billion record benchmark of its QlikView application, extending its ability to give individuals quick and easy access to information locked in corporate databases. The QlikView application takes full advantage of Intel processor-based HP Integrity and HP ProLiant servers to offer fast, scalable and cost effective access to data analysis previously only available from complex and specialised enterprise BI applications.
The billion record milestone has tremendous impact on companies that are being forced to compete in today's global "always-on" business environment. Not only has the amount of data that needs to be stored, tracked and analysed increased by orders of magnitude, but the ability to access that data to determine trends or make quick decisions has been diminished by the inability of individuals to make their own ad hoc queries on the data.
This trend is particularly important in the retail market where access to large volumes of point of sale data and the ability for an individual to quickly identify buying patterns in seconds rather than months can be critical to staying competitive. Financial services is another market where fast and easy access to both high level and detailed information is vital. Imagine that the CEO of a bank can see a broad view of business metrics and within seconds, move to a level of detail that identifies credit risks and who is managing them.
QlikTech is leading a new class of easy-to-use, fast and flexible business analysis solutions that give individuals access to the data that can most impact their day-to-day business results. QlikTech's flagship product, QlikView 7.2, extends the company's vision of simplifying business analysis, offering solutions that can be deployed in days, where users can be trained in minutes, and where end users can instantly use results to refine their decisions.
"QlikView is fast because it is designed from the bottom up to take advantage of 64-bit multiprocessor platforms," says Anthony Deighton, Vice President of Marketing at QlikTech. "The billion record application illustrates how we can quickly put critical information into the hands of the people who are responsible for keeping their companies competitive."
QlikView was specifically architected to take advantage of the innovations in Intel-based hardware platforms offered by industry leaders such as HP. Standards-based HP ProLiant servers and HP Integrity servers offer customers the choice they require to meet their growing business needs.
"HP's broad portfolio of servers offer customers a choice for their business intelligence solutions," said Christopher Buss, director of business intelligence solutions, Technology Solutions Group, HP. "From HP's best-in-class HP ProLiant servers to the scalability of the HP Integrity servers, customers can benefit from both performance and scale. QlikView and the billion record milestone allows us to highlight the power of our servers."
