2008 promises to be yet another incredible year for QlikView in South Africa  

 

In the past 5 months, we have received accolades both locally and internationally. These events not only show that QlikView is now setting the standard for BI in South Africa, but that its adoption rate is rapidly accelerating.  

  • South African users have voted QlikView as their preferred BI tool. The results of the annual iTWeb BI survey showed that more companies bought QlikView last year than bought any other BI software. Users of QlikView also reflected the highest satisfaction level. Read more

  • We have sold more QlikView licenses in the 5 months to May than we did in the whole of last year! Whilst – as reflected in the itWeb survey - our performance last year was outstanding, we are well on track to double our sales yet again. Read more

  • We have been recognised as one of QlikView’s top Partners in the world. QlikView South Africa received one of five coveted Special Partner Awards at Qonnections 2008, the annual global partner summit of QlikTech. This event was held at the end of April in Miami and was attended by over 300 Partners from some 35 countries around the world. Read more

QlikTech could be worth over $1billion  

 

Not long ago, you could count the number of European tech startups that went on to become giants on one hand. Now all that is beginning to change according to Business Week, who recently analysed the European companies with the potential of achieving valuations of a billion dollars or more.

QlikTech is of course one of them. It has recently hired Morgan Stanley as its investment banker in preparation for an initial public offering.

QlikView SAP Connector 5.0 is released

 

This is a major rework from previous versions and offers significant enhancements:

•          New and simplified architecture

•          Greater speed (twice as fast)

•          Support for parallel downloads

•          Improved security features

 

This release fully integrates the Connector into QlikView to the point that there is hardly a difference between connecting to SAP and connecting to SQL or Oracle!
