2007 sets another record year for QlikView and a new era for Business Intelligence

With an 80% increase over 2006 worldwide revenues, QlikTech has maintained its status as the fastest growing BI company in the world. This is the 3rd year in a row where QlikTech records 75% or more annual revenue growth!

This success comes in a year of significant industry consolidation, when traditional BI vendors such as Cognos, Business Objects and Hyperion were acquired by IBM, SAP and Oracle, respectively. We believe that these acquisitions are highly significant and mark a turning point in the world of BI which will be redefined by new and innovative technologies. Unlike OLAP, these technologies will focus on simplicity and delivery to the end user and fulfill the promise that we in IT have been making for so long. This sentiment is reflected in a recent Gartner report where they state that “increased BI innovation also means that query, reporting and online analytical processing (OLAP) capabilities have reached parity and no longer deliver competitive edge”.

It is clear that with its unique associative in-memory technology and the phenomenal growth it has achieved in the past years, QlikView has established itself as one of the key players that is redefining the BI landscape.

CapeSpan turn to QlikView to help it manage its complex export business

Until recently, CapeSpan managed their complex data requirements using a widely available financial system interfaced with a disparate set of custom-built sales, payments and logistics systems. Extracting management info rmation was a time-consuming task requiring managers or technical staff to run complex SQL queries that frequently changed. This often led to disagreement about what was going on: “It was too easy to make mistakes with the SQL queries and people would get different results,” says systems development manager Eugene van Vuuren.
